A Nongovernmental American Citizen Assisted Mission of Goodwill for Ghana
Providing education and resources for self-sustaining cottage industries owned and operated by indigenous people in West Africa. Our MissionMoringaCommunity.Org is committed to helping the people of Ghana, West Africa improve their quality of life by developing sustainable locally appropriate technologies and training local citizens in their use in order to provide occupational opportunity, reduce physical rigors and help meet basic life needs. Initially, these tasks include woodworking and food preservation. The geographical focus is in the Capecoast/Central Region. Over time, the aim is to expand task training to include other life and occupational skills, and to broaden the geographical impact throughout Ghana and subsequently other regions of West Africa by example. Organization ProfileWe are a private not-for-profit organization founded in March 2008 by Jeffry & Linda Lohr of Pennsylvania, USA and Abubakar Abdulai of Cape Coast, Ghana with financial assistance from caring private American supporters and service assistance donated by indigenous African people in Ghana. Everything you see here has been accomplished in only this short amount of time! The results are real and tangible. Join us and think of how much more we can do with just a little more help from people like you.
We are proud to have growing ranks of active American supporters for this practical and realistic goal-oriented grass roots effort to improve the lives of impoverished people in West Africa. Our goal is not as much charity as it is to educate and empower Ghanaians through a philosophy of "Give a man a fish and feed him for only one day... Teach a man to fish and feed him for a life time." Please explore our web site and learn how we really can make a difference. A good place to start your tour may be A Message from Our President but feel free to browse at will. Jeffry Lohr / Director
